I am so happy to be able to share my goat milk soap with you. This has been on my heart for the last year and with my husband as my partner I am able to make a business out of a hobby that I love.
Do you know what cold process soap is? It is a wonderful combination of liquids, oils and a saphonification process. Believe it or not making soap is chemistry. Many have gone away from making their own soap because, lets face it, it is just time consuming and potentially dangerous. The first time I made soap I was nervous because I had heard about people having bad experiences. Fact is that you add lye to the liquids and then add the oils to the lye and liquid mixture. After they are mixed they are poured into molds to form the bars of soap that are available for purchase now. You see, without the lye there is no "bar" of soap. It would only be liquid that would not clean your skin. Once the bar is removed from the mold it goes through about a month of a curing process. During that month the lye goes away to form the firm bar of soap. Once the curing process happens there is literally no lye in the soap at all. Its only purpose is to make a hard bar that is preserved for your use. Here are a couple pictures of the process of making soap. I made these three batches of soap yesterday and they will be available for sale in about a month. So glad you found the website and I hope you try some soap.
